What is a boudoir session?

It is an individual beauty session, focused on making you look and feel your best. Sometimes sexy, sometimes demure, the vibe and exposure depends on each individual person.

How does a boudoir session work?

I consult with you about the vibe for your boudoir session during the initial email. We make a rough game plan for what you will wear for the session. Once you arrive to the studio, your hair and makeup is professional done to your taste. Then we begin the session.

Do I have to know how to pose for the camera?

Absolutely not. I walk you through every pose, facial expression, and clothing adjustment. The boudoir session is tailored to you, bringing out the best with the correct posing, lighting, and personalization suited to YOU.

Do I have to be naked, or show a lot of skin during a boudoir session?

No. It is a beauty session, meant to celebrate you! Fully clothed, or fully bare, but usually somewhere in between.

What should I wear to a boudoir session?

A bra and panty set, with a cardigan is a great place to start! A lot of soon-to-be brides, or women celebrating an anniversary will bring a veil, or other bridal accessories. Ask me about my clothing vip page for more inspo!

Can I bring a friend to root me on?

Yes. Infact, I offer a discount on sessions booked with a friend!

Do I have to be a size 2?

NO! Boudoir is for all shape and sizes! I encourage women to photograph themselves just as they are. Our bodies change so much throughout our lives, and even if this isn’t the most confident you’ve ever felt, a boudoir session will bring that confidence back…guaranteed.

What does a boudoir portrait session include?

The session includes hair and makeup services, the portrait session, and a collection of 20 images of your choice. The session is shot (privately) at my studio in Cambridge, Mn.

How much time does the boudoir session take to shoot?

Approximately 45-60 minutes. There is time for clothing changes, lighting set-up, hair and makeup touch-ups.

How do I choose which images I want for the final edit?

Post-session the images are lightly edited and sent to you via a proofing gallery. In this gallery you will be able to see each photo, and favorite the images you want for the final edit. Once your selections are made I start working on the final edit.

What gets edited on boudoir images?

Blemishes, harsher shadows, light skin smoothing. There is no major body modifications or body sculpting. Clothing, posing and lighting is where the magic happens, not in photoshop. I consider moles, scars, etc beautiful and unique, and are not automatically removed. If there is anything specific you’d like removed (for whatever reason, no judgement) or modified, you can specify that at the time of final selections and I can take care of that.
